I feel warm and safe and for the first time in a while my entire body doesn’t ache. I blink my eyes open and take in the blurry surroundings. I hear excited whispering to my right. I tilt my head in the direction of the noise and see the blurry image of Ginny in her dressing gown with Tina resting on her hip.

KRACK!!!!!!


I just manage to duck the Bludgeoning Spell from my pursuers. I’m not sure how long I’ve been trapped in the depths of Gringotts, but my life has quickly turned into a one of hunter or be hunted.

Warm air blows by my face. My vision is spinning. Ginny’s horrified screams echo in my ears. My stomach lurches with the motion. I fan my arms and legs out and stabilize. The spinning stops. The fall doesn’t. I’m plummeting to my death. I watch fascinated as level after level of the Gringotts bank speed by.

I’m not sure who is more nervous about today, me or her. Ginny is putting up a brave face, but I’m learning to see the signs. There is fear in her eyes, even if she won’t acknowledge it. I should have never said anything to her about coming with her today, it only strengthened her resolve to go back to work today.

I was apprehensive about returning to work this morning. Technically, I didn’t ask for Wednesday and Thursday off from work. Furthermore, I was a witness to the incident involving Ron and Justin and hadn’t filed a report yet. Still, Ginny actually seemed to be looking forward to Luna’s visit so at least I wasn’t going to be worrying about Ginny as much as usual when I’m not with her.
